Ocean inspired
coffee
I began working on the water in Kona in 2019 as a snorkel guide. I’ve worked on sail boats, offshore wildlife safari tours, and education based local snorkels. Outside of work, I scuba dive, fish, freedive, and participate in many different ocean based non profits and activities. For example, I am on the Big Island’s Humpback Whale Disentanglement Team!
With so much of my life being tied to the ocean, I feel a strong connection to it no matter where I am. Whether I’m slinging coffee, hiking, or traveling, Kona’s coast is always on my mind.
When I was inspired to start a mobile coffee trailer, of course I’d tie it to my love for the sea. Come talk to me anytime or reach out with any questions! I love talking about ways to get involved :)
You’ll find links and information to sites/resources I use frequently or participate in under “Ocean Resources” page.

About Kohola’s Philosophy
I put a lot of thought into Kohola Coffee’s menu. The core ideas behind my menu are:
Consistency! Every time I pull a shot or make a smoothie, I make sure it’s up to my standard and within my prearranged recipes so I know it tastes good every time.
Freshness. I make smoothies at home all the time because of how awesome our local fruits are. Something is always in season and that means delicious fruits consistently. I curated the smoothie menu based upon seasonal fruit, local ingredients, and good combinations! Smoothies need fresh fruit, but also something to make them cold, so I pair things based upon what I can combine frozen and fresh!
